Kilshane House, just past the charming town of Bansha, Co. Tipperary is located on 320 acres of magical parkland, at the end of a very long and entertaining driveway. Quirky signposts mark the way and gorgeous views made the drive up to the house a pleasure. The house itself is a masterpiece, with gorgeous rooms and decor, a huge 1860’s conservatory and the main dining hall is something very unique indeed.
Steeped in history, the house has had many uses and changed hands several times. The current owners have restored the house and grounds to an amazing standard, and it was the perfect setting for Linda and James’s wedding in April.
The happy couple rented vintage china (from Lulabelle.ie )for a tea reception on arrival. Located just off the main entrance hall, the reception room is so pretty I was delighted to create a dessert table to suit the room.
The dessert table was made up of little nibbly items to go with tea: Homemade bourbon biscuits and custard cream biscuits, stamped with Linda and James’ initials, choux buns filled with hazelnut pastry cream and drizzled with chocolate, mini white chocolate and raspberry macarons , iced sugar cookies, chocolate dipped honeycomb, vanilla and raspberry marshmallows, Boston cream doughnuts (provided by Empire Donuts) , Mixed mini cupcakes and chocolate dipped Turkish delight.
We decided on silver platters and glass plates and stands to fit in with the vintage style and finished off the look with little flags (not pictured)
The wedding Cake was a birdcage with hand painted details and handmade sugar flowers. But more on that another day.
